(or cut in half regular beef ribs, if not short ribs are not available)
1 14.5 oz. can beef broth
1 12 oz. can dark beer
1 medium onion sliced
1/4 cup molasses
2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar
1 tsp. dry or fresh thyme
1 tsp. hot sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
